If he goes down again, Lovie Smith has veteran Brian Griese to fall back on. In fact, all signs indicate Griese may be given the chance to win the job outright. Regardless of who’s under center expect running back Cedric Benson to carry the load on the ground. Paired with last year’s stud Thomas Jones, the Bears will be packing a 1-2 punch at running back that will have most teams green with envy. As if they weren’t already solid on defense, Chicago spent their first five pick in the NFL draft on “D” players, a frightening thought for the rest of the NFL.
